Get indexed, get ranked, get traffic

It’s undeniable that the one thing you need to succeed in your online business is traffic. And free traffic beats everything else. So where do we get free traffic? Google and other search engines.
How does Google give out free traffic?
You’ve experienced this process a lot of times. You go to Google. Enter the words you’re interested in. And then you visit one or more of the sites that show up. That website owner has just enjoyed the benefit of free traffic. So the real question is how you get that free traffic.
You probably only visit a link or two from the first page of results. In fact, the first page of results receives almost all the free traffic. And believe it or not, the first 3 results receive over 70% of the traffic.
So to get any significant amount of free traffic from Google, you really need to be on the first page. And that means you need to be “ranked” in the top 10 by Google. And this bring us to…
What is SEO?
Search Engine Optimization means that Google thinks your site matches what people are typing into their search box. It’s a complex formula that only people working for Google know exactly. But there are several things that we know for sure.
Getting indexed
First, before you can get ranked highly, Google has to know you exist. This is known as being “indexed.” What this means is that Google visits your site and records information about it in their database.
In order to get indexed, Google has to be able to find you. Getting a link from another site will accomplish this easily. Because Google already knows about these sites, it will follow the new links to you.
Twitter and Facebook updates are great places to put links to your site. These sites are very popular so Google indexes them multiple times a day. So any new links will be followed right away.
Gaining ranking
Once you have been indexed, you will start working on increasing your rank. Just getting indexed does you almost no good, considering that Google has billions of pages in their database.
There are three components of gaining ranking:
- Content
- Links
- Activity
SEO content
This is the SEO work you do on your page. You need to make sure your content matches the search terms you’re going after. Obviously, the article you’re reading now is about search engine optimization. One reason Google knows this is because the words search engine optimization appear inside it. Another reason is because there are related words, like website traffic, too.
The title of the page, the domain name and other pages on your site are also important. Each of these plays a roles in Google determination about your site.
Link strategy
The second factor is your linking. This includes both the inbound and outbound links. With inbound links, you want to have more coming in than going out. So the number of inbound links is important.
Article spinning is a super easy way to get a bunch of inbound links. To use this technique you write articles related to the topic of your websites. Then you have to create multiple versions of this articles. Because you’re going to post a unique copy of it to lots of different websites. And quantity is the key here – so do lots and lots.
Make your site active
And lastly, it’s seems clear that Google expects important pages to be actively updated. You can’t just put up a page and leave it alone and expect it to rank well. Regular content updates to your site are expected. RSS feeds are an easy way to keep your content changing.
But the best way is with active discussions on your page itself. This means you need to get real live people to your site, as well. Online forums are simple source of real live visitors.
Set up forum profiles with the ones related to your website. Then become active in the forum. Then put a link to your site in your profile. This will get your more inbound links. And it will also get real visitors to your site.
Conclusion
Each step listed above is critical. However, writing a bunch of different articles on the same topic. And creating a bunch of forum profiles. And posting your content all over the web is time consuming. And the bad news is that you probably won’t do it.
However, rank builder software exists. And it automates everything we’ve just talked about. So the best thing you can do is to automate this process. Otherwise, you won’t do it at all. And not doing it means you will never get free traffic from Google.
