7 reasons why you MUST have your own info product

Posted in: Uncategorized by JeffDedrick on August 5, 2010

Answer this question: What is the number one reason people get online everyday? Simple. To get information. Google alone serves up 400 million searches per day! OK, so what’s it to you? It means that you have a massive opportunity to give people exactly what they’re looking for – information. And to earn some cash for doing it!

Info marketing 101

First, understand that this is the simplest kind of business there is. You develop a product that is nothing more than information. And people pay you for the information inside it.. It couldn’t get much simpler.

How do you make it work?

You’ve got the basic concept – exchange info for money. But to make it a successful business there has to be value in the info you’re selling. So step one is to discover what kind of info people want. How do figure that out?

One very simple method is to do a little research. Head over to ask.com or Yahoo! answers and see what kinds of questions people are asking. You want to find something a lot of people are asking about. Something that most people don’t already know. And provide the answer – in the form of an info product.

Think about this:

If you’re worried about how to write and ebook. Think about this: An info product is just a bunch of articles strung together. Writing a whole ebook can be overwhelming. Focus on one article at a time. And when you’ve got a few finished, expand and embellish them and put them together into an ebook.

OK, what’s so hot about digital products? Well, that bring me to the tile of this article Here are 7 reasons for you:

1. Simplicity and ease

As soon as you have the pieces in place, it’s virtually maintenance free. And your customers need very little support. Which means there nothing for you to actually *do*. It really is like and automatic money machine.

You have no physical inventory. There’s nothing to ship. It’s all delivered online.

2. Repurposing

After you’ve created a few ebooks. You can combine them together to create new high ticket products. It’s nothing to combine the content from several ebooks. And your new product will be able to carry a much higher sticker price. People will be willing to pay a lot more for one big ebook. As opposed to a bunch of little ones.

3. Private label right

When you own the product, you can sell resell rights to it. Resell rights are very hot right now, because people just don’t want to invest the time and money into making their own. And the best part is you’re selling the same product . . . but for 3 times the price for the rights!

4. Leverage

It’s your content, so you can use it in as many different ways as you want. Break it apart and create a multi-part email series with it. You can use this to build a list that you can marketing to again and again.

5. More leverage

Utilize your content in as many ways as you can – like creating a few reports from parts of the ebook. Then use these to generate leads for the main product. They can be free or low prices. Either way, you win because you’re feeding your funnel. You can even make these viral by allowing your affiliates to give them away. Affiliate, you say? Yes!

6. An army of affiliates

This one is huge. When you own your own products. You’re able to let other people market it for you. How would you like to have an army of affiliates selling your products? You can’t do this unless you have your own product.

7. Joint Ventures

OK, this is by far the biggest reason why. The number one way to launch your success is through joint ventures. And this is probably the number one reason to create your own product. Because if you don’t have you own product, you’ve got nothing to JV.

In closing

If you don’t want to sell digital products by now, then you’re either crazy or not listening. ;-) You’re the ruler of your own fate. Because you’re 100% in control. So, decide to just start:

  • Visit an “answers” site
  • See what people are asking about
  • Start writing

Don’t make info product creation any more complicated than that. And in short time you’ll have the foundation for your own info product.

Using Web Audio for Success

Posted in: Uncategorized by JeffDedrick on August 3, 2010

It would be hard to argue against the fact that adding audio to a website increases your overall results. If you don’t have audio in your arsenal, you’re missing out. Adding it raises your opt-in conversions. It boosts sales, too.

What makes it so effective?

There’s no real mystery. The web is mostly silent. It adds a human touch to your site. And makes people feel they’re dealing with a real person. Basically, audio brings your site to life. Which fascinates greater interaction from your visitors.

Some more benefits

Adding audio increases your profits in two ways. First, you’ll make more sales. And second you’ll save money on the sales letter. Instead of having to pay a professional to write you a great sales letter. Just record some audio and add it to your site. Your honest message about your product will sell better than a professional copywriter.

You’ll get more subscribers, too. The reason this works so well is because people need to be told what to do. So you make an audio recording that says: Put your email and name into the form and submit. Just this one simple thing will boost opt-ins up to 315%!

Some ways to use audio

A welcome message on your homepage. A warm welcome can be the deciding factor. Your welcome message could make them stay when they would normally leave.

Lead them by the had. The same principle the we used to boost opt-ins applies. You can use audio to tell your visitors exactly what to do. That includes filling in your order form!

Get testimonials for your services and products. Written testimonials are good. But what’s even better are audio testimonials. You can just make up written one and people know that. Audio adds a level of higher believability. And will definitely increase your results.

Power tip

Did you ever think of making a product just by recording some audio? Audio is faster to produce than anything else. Plus people love audio products. Think about how popular podcast are. Plus you can get them transcribed cheap. This is the easiest way to “write” an eBook!

Is adding audio hard?

It’s actually really easy. You can find a lot of programs that create audio buttons for you. You don’t actually have to do anything yourself. The software records the audio, creates the button code, etc. You just copy and paste into your website. There’s nothing to worry about.

Summing it up

Just a reminder of why you want to start using audio. Putting streaming audio on your site will boost all your results. You’ll enjoy more customer sales. You’ll get more subscribers. And you can use it to create products and sales letters quickly. It’s a less often used medium. But audio is a really big time and money saver. Don’t be lazy! Add some audio today. ;-)

Sneaky Affiliate Tricks

Posted in: Uncategorized by JeffDedrick on July 31, 2010

Yes affiliate marketing rocks, but it’s really hard to get started. And that’s because you have a lot of other affiliates to compete with. What you need to do is come up with methods no one else is using. It’s also hard to figure out what to do because there’s a lot of information out there. But here’s one tip that almost no one is talking about.

Affiliate videos

No one would deny the power and popularity of video. Video online is everywhere because people love it. Keeping people’s attention is so much easier using videos. So using it in your affiliate promotions is a no-brainer!

Here are a few ideas for creating affiliate videos:

  • Testimonials
  • Do a video walk-through
  • Do an ordering video
  • Do a preview video

Testimonials

It doesn’t get any easier than this. Just click record on your web cam and start talking. It does not need to be polished or pro. Just seeing another real person endorsing a product helps your viewers decide to buy. In truth, mistakes and mess-ups just make it more believable. You really can just click record and start talking. Use one of the other ideas if you’re feeling shy.

Record a walk-through

This technique works slightly more subconsciously. Basically you’re doing a tutorial on how to use the product. And in the process you’re actually selling the product. As long as the product is good, the tutorial makes them want it. So, obviously, pick a good product to demo.

Record the order process

This could be the most powerful method of all. Record yourself placing an order. Nothing inspires your viewers to buy like watching you do it. First of all it’s what’s called “social proof”. In general people are more likely to something they’ve seen other people do. This also makes your viewers trust you. Your advice is easier to trust if they can see you’re doing what you tell them to do. And don’t forget about the need to “keep up with the Joneses”. It’s simple – you have it. Now they want it. You can add some extra punch to this by ending with: You’re gonna have to place your own order if you want to see the members area.

Sneak peak

This one is perfect for building up the value of what you’re promoting. You do a tour of the members area. You show them the entire contents of what they get. It also reduces the reservations of skeptics. Once they’ve seen the back-end, they know it’s real.

Anyone can do it!

No special skills are required. Anyone can create stunning videos with some easy-to-use software. All the work is done by the program. So there’s no need to even think about the technical side. Just focus on the benefits:

  • Increase sales Using videos in your affiliate marketing will dramatically increase your sales. People like video, so start using it.
  • Reduce refunds You’ll also have less of your commissions taken back. Now they know what they get before they purchase. So they’ll be less likely to refund.
  • Beat your competition! This is a really easy thing to do. But only a very small percentage do it. That puts you ahead of the pack.

Take your affiliate promotions to a higher level and getting started with this now. It’s your profit that’s affected by not taking action.

Email List Building Strategies

Posted in: Uncategorized by JeffDedrick on July 29, 2010

Honestly, everyone making money online has an email list. It’s the number one key to opening the success floodgates. After it’s built, it’s yours to use any time you want. It’s like a renewable resource that allows you to make money on demand.

OK, but how?

There are 3 factors in list building you need to consider:

  • Your Landing Page
  • The Bribe
  • The Thank You Page

The Squeeze Page – Your opt-in page is the page you send visitors to to build your list. This page is the one that asks them for their email. So, obviously it has to be well designed. And have an easy to understand opt-in form. And your call to action must be clear!

If you fail to make a strong close, you’re wasting your efforts. This is a definitive message that tells your visitor what to do. And if you don’t include it, they won’t opt in. It’s strange, but if you don’t tell people what to do, they won’t do it.

You can take your opt-in page to the next level if you add a compelling video to the page. Adding video will help keep your visitors attention. Plus it give you a chance to tell them to opt in multiple times. And after the video, you can make it just say “fill in the form now”.

If you don’t know how to make video, don’t worry. It’s very easy to hire people for a couple hundred bucks to make one for you. You can also find ready-made list building tools that include video squeeze pages.

Your Bribe – Next, you’ve got to figure out what your bribe is. People won’t give you their email for nothing. Email privacy is very important to most people. So make your “bribe” a good one!

The only way to make this work is to provide real value. It has to be something that people actually want. And something from which they can derive a benefit. It could be:

  • An eBook
  • Software
  • A video tutorial
  • An email training series

Basically, you just need some content. And make it both helpful and informative. It goes without saying it must be free. Bottom line is it’s got to be worth more to them than their email address.

If you’re worried about creating this content, don’t be. You can just pay someone else to make it for you. Just give them a topic and they will write the content. A 5-part email series is a good freebie. And you can get emails ghost written for about $20 – $25 each. And whole thing will only cost a hundred and fifty buck.

There are also list building products that include the follow up email series. There are two important things about the email series. The first thing is that it delivers value to your subscribers. And second, it needs to make you money. Mixing some affiliate products into your email series is a great way to do this. This is such a simple solution because you don’t have to create the product. And you can earn some commissions immediately from your emails.

The Opt-in Success Page – The “thank you” page is the final piece of the puzzle. This is the page your subscriber sees after they opt in. It’s a great idea to give them some valuable information right on the thank you page. That way, they feel glad that they gave you their email address. And it helps you establish the relationship. Then they’re more receptive when you email them.

You can use a “done for you” email marketing system. Or you can do it yourself. And do your own writing for this content. Or pay a freelancer to write the content for you.

In closing

Whether you decide to build your email funnel yourself. Or pay a freelancer to write produce it all for you. Or go with a complete package. The important thing is that you build your own list starting now. Once you’ve got it built. You’re free to make money at the push of a button.
